What this app is, what it does, and how to reach someone about it.

Before anything else

Laguna Beach High School is a real school, and this is not its site. This app is unaffiliated — not operated by or endorsed by the school or the district. If you are looking for the school's own athletics pages, schedules or clearance forms, they are at lbhs.lbusd.org — not here. Nothing you enter on this site reaches the school.

Getting started

You need an invitation for now

Until this site is formally released, every page asks you to sign in — except five that stay open: this page, the privacy policy, the sign-in screen itself, the page an invitation link lands on, and the Boosters' own portal at /boosters, which has a separate sign-in of its own. That is a closed door on an unreleased site, not a statement that anything behind it is confidential.

Behind it: every program's schedule and coaching staff, the athletic office's published fall rosters, the department calendar, championship history, and the facilities, officiating, transportation and clearance screens for staff who have been given a role.

Accounts are created by invitation. There is no sign-up form. If you were invited and your link no longer works, the sign-in screen will send you a fresh one — open it as soon as it arrives, because these links stop working within minutes. If you have not been invited and think you should be, email the address at the foot of this page and say who you are.

Scope

What this app does

Reef, the in-app assistant, is real. It is a working AI assistant that walks you through account setup and can answer questions about the roster.

The operations screens report; they do not decide. Facilities, officiating, transportation and clearance show where each request, assignment and trip stands, and explain how the department's own rules route it. Making those decisions happens in the athletic office's systems, not here.

The website's team trip page takes payment through PayPal, which collects and holds your card or account details; this site never receives or stores them. Team trip money goes to the Boosters, who pay for the trip. There is no ticketing and no donation page, and the iOS app has no checkout and never sees a payment method. Items in the menu marked Planned are not built, and say so before you click them.

Some of what you see is invented, and each screen says which. The fall schedules and rosters come from the athletic office's own published documents and game results are read from the school's MaxPreps pages. Winter and spring fixtures, and every facility booking, official, bus trip and record on the department's clearance worklist, are invented — the screens that carry them say so at the top. A student's own clearance record, under My clearance, is real: the athletic office enters it, and only that student, a parent the office has linked to them, and the office can see it.

Common questions

If something looks wrong

  • Dates look out of season. Every screen but the scoreboard reads a fixed date — 20 November 2026 — so the department stays mid-season whatever the real calendar says. A fixture dated before it is shown as part of the season already behind that date; it is not a claim that a game has been played, and no result is implied by a date alone. The scrolling strip on the front page is the exception and carries real recent results.
  • Reef says its replies are scripted. The assistant degrades to a scripted onboarding rather than failing. It still collects the same answers.
  • A screen looks empty. Close and reopen the app. If it persists, email us with the screen name.
Privacy

What is collected

The website and the apps record how they are used — pages, presses, scrolling, load times and errors — for CosmotionAI alone, without your email address, your name, your account or anything you type, and with no advertising or cross-site tracking. The home page’s Instagram panel is supplied by Instagram, so opening that page sends Meta your IP address and browser details. Signing in creates records too: your account, the onboarding answers Reef collects, and an activity log on your own account. The privacy policy says exactly what each of those holds and who it reaches.

Questions about this app, problems with it, requests for access, and deletion requests all go to the same place, and a person reads it:

Spotted something wrong on this site, or want something changed — a name, a time, a missing team? Send corrections and change requests to reef@lagunabeachathletics.org, and a person reviews each one before anything changes.

Anything about the school's own athletics — clearance paperwork, eligibility, team selection, a schedule change — is the athletic office's, not ours. They are at (949) 497-7750 and on the school's own site.
